Tinkerbell director talks to Movieweb about why he chose Michael Sheen
Tinkerbell and The Great Fairy Rescue director, Bradley Raymond, spoke to Movieweb. One of the questions asked was why he chose Michael Sheen to voice the part of Dr. Griffiths.
When I was listening for the voice of Dr. Griffiths, Michael Sheen was suggested to me by our head of casting, Jason Henkel. When I heard Michael’s voice, I heard a sense of warmth in his voice. He gives Lizzy’s father a likeability that is so crucial to the story. You want to root for Lizzy and her father to come together. Then when I had the pleasure to work with him, I got to witness his true greatness. Michael has the uncanny ability to act with his voice. That is so important in animation, because the actor’s voice is what inspires the animator’s performance on the screen.
Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue will be out on DVD and BluRay in the US on September 21st.

Michael Sheen ‘Parenting is a hard balancing act’
Michael Sheen has admitted that parenting is a hard balancing act.
In a recent interview with Handbag.com, Michael admitted he struggles to balance his professional life with his responsibilities as a parent, but hopes he and his daughter’s mother, Kate Beckinsale, set a good example.
“I want my daughter to grow up and do something that she loves doing and she’s passionate about. So I hope that the example that me and her mother set doing that, will help her,” Michael said, before adding, “At the same time you don’t want to be letting work take over, so it is a juggling act that I think ever parent has to deal with.”
Michael voices the character of Dr Griffiths in the latest Tinkerbell film called Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue.
