On ITV1 tonight at 10pm, Dermot O’Leary reveals the amazing line up of stars and footballing legends taking part in Soccer Aid 2010, including Robbie Williams, Mike Myers, Zinedine Zidane and of course Michael Sheen.

As captain of the ‘Rest Of The World’ we figure that he will get at least a mention. It is only on for 10 minutes and I will of course be recording this and adding to the Video Gallery later.

Don’t forget – you will be able to watch the match LIVE on ITV1 on June 6th.

Michael Sheen to Captain Rest of World in Soccer Aid 2010

Michael Sheen is to captain the star-studded side which includes Boyzone member Ronan Keating, TV presenter Gethin Jones, former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, undefeated boxing champion Joe Calzaghe and actor James Kyson-Lee, who plays Ando in Heroes, cricketing legend Brian Lara and footballing heroes Zinedine Zidane and Henrik Larsson.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish will manage the super squad with the help of his old Reds team mate Ian Rush. Together, they will put the Rest of the World team through their paces in the hope that they will lift the Soccer Aid 2010 trophy for the very first time.

Michael Sheen comments;

“I fully anticipate this to be the greatest moment of my life. The Rest of the World is a big place and to be Captain of it is a huge honour and one I take very seriously. I now have a team of specialists monitoring my every movement. And I have a lot of movements for them to monitor believe me. For me to play alongside the likes of Zidane is an extraordinary honour and privilege and one I’m sure he never dreamed would be possible for him when he started off as a footie-mad kid.”

They will be taking on the England team who’s team sheet currently includes Robbie Williams, GMTV presenter Ben Shephard, actor and TV presenter Bradley Walsh, presenter and DJ Jamie Theakston, boxing hero Ricky Hatton, actor Damian Lewis alongside footballing heroes Alan Shearer, David Seaman, Teddy Sheringham and Jamie Redknapp. Comic genius James Corden will be the assistant manager.
