Sadly, as reported earlier, Michael Sheen was unsuccessful in his nominated category of Lead Actor in a Drama or Miniseries, which was won by Al Pacino.

Commiserations to Michael Sheen for Emmy disappointment
Most of you will already know by now, but unfortunately Michael Sheen did not win his nominated category of Lead Actor in a miniseries, at the Primetime Emmy’s last night.
I think I can say for us all that we are bitterly disappointed but he was in a category with some extremely talented and strong candidates. I think most people would struggle to beat the winner, Al Pacino, in an awards race. This year was just not his time.

Nominees for 62nd Emmy announced
Today the final nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmy awards were announced by Sofia Vergara and Joel McHale and Michael has been shortlisted! The Special Relationship received a total of 5 nominations.

- Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie – Dennis Quaid (Bill Clinton)
- Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie – Hope Davis (Hilary Clinton)
- Outstanding Made For Television Movie – The Special Relationship
- Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special – Peter Morgan (The Special Relationship
The Awards will air live on August 29 (8-11 p.m. EST) on NBC and will originate from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, and hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
62nd Emmys nominations announced tomorrow
The nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmy nominations will be announced tomorrow at 5:35am (PDT) from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Los Angeles by Sofia Vergara and Joel McHale.
That it 13:35 in the UK. Keep your eyes peeled on their website (Emmys.com) as they will be streaming the announcement live.
There is a hope that Michael will be nominated, in fact he could potentially be nominated in several categories.
Guest Actor in a Comedy Series (30 Rock)
Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (The Special Relationship)
Also, his co-stars & recent project The Special Relationship could be shortlisted for a few categories.
