Thank you for your help raising £100 for NSPCC
This message is to say a big thank you to all of you who bought their Michael Sheen DVDs and BluRays, or any other products, through the Amazon links or shop, on the site. With your help, we have raised a total of £66.80 in Amazon commission so far, plus further online donations of £33.20 to our JustGiving page.
Together, we have reached a total of £100, and I am still waiting to hear from Amazon what commission was collected in the final quarter so this amount will hopefully be more!
I will publish the final total for the year early in January.
All money raised is given direct to the NSPCC via our JustGiving page. As you may know, Michael Sheen is the official ‘hero’ of the NSPCC and voices the TV campaign adverts.
For more information how you can help to make next year’s total even bigger, please visit the site’s Charity page, which has instructions how you can order all your Michael Sheen related products or anything on your wish list through the site, from Amazon. It does not cost you a penny more but the site gets a small percentage in commission.
Michael Sheen himself generously donates much of his time supporting charities and other worthwhile causes, that we should all follow his example and help where we can. To help with our Amazon commission, it costs you no more than a couple of extra clicks. Also – this is not restricted to UK members – fans from all over the world can help too. We have links on the project pages to Amazon products on Amazon.com, Amazon.fr, Amazon.de, as well as Amazon.co.uk. I also hope to add to this Amazon.ca and Amazon.it
Total Amazon commission raised for NSPCC for 2009
As mentioned in previous posts, this site receives a small referral fee for anyone who makes a purchase after click through to them from Michael-Sheen.co.uk.
This year, I have decided that the money raised would go to the NSPCC, as this is a very worthy cause and Michael Sheen is currently their Ambassador.
Our total for 2009 is £30.53.
The amount is made up of the following quarterly totals (Click on the links to view the Amazon statements).
Quarter 1 2009 = £0.00
Quarter 2 2009 = £2.24
Quarter 3 2009 = £7.60
Quarter 4 2009 = £20.69
I would like to thank all who made purchases through the site and helped us get this amount. We have only been running the scheme since March so I am very pleased, but I know that we can do better next year.
If you want to help us raise even more money for 2010, then follow the instructions as explained in this earlier post.
I will be sending a cheque to the NSPCC this week and will post the receipt once it has arrived.
Thank you all once again, and a Happy New Year to you all.
Help the NSPCC without costing you a penny!
At Michael-sheen.co.uk we have an Amazon Associate shop and any sales made through this generate a (very very small) referral commission to the site. It has been the intention all along for this to be donated at the end of the year to a charity of Michael’s choice.
You get your items for no extra charge – so you can help charity without it costing you a penny!
As we have been unable to get a reply from the man himself about which charity to donate to, we have decided to donate the money to the NSPCC. The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is a UK charity that are working towards wiping out cruelty and abuse to children, and Michael Sheen is their current Hero of the Child’s Voice Appeal.
How can I help?
On the site in the menu bar at the top you will see a button marked ‘Amazon’. If you click here, it will take you to our Associate Shop. We have a large collection of DVDs, Blu-Rays, CD’s, Posters and more. Anything a Michael Sheen fan could want. We have done the searching through Amazon so you don’t have to. New products are being added as they are released.
Can I buy anything from Amazon through the site’s shop?
Yes, you can! First, log into your account on Amazon. Browse through and select the items you want to order and add them to your ‘WishList’.
Then go to the site, and click on our Amazon shop button. You will notice that in the bottom right of the Amazon shop it displays your WishList. Select the items you want and order and checkout in the usual manner.
Where can I learn more about the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal?
Watch this video that Michael Sheen recorded himself. We will be cutting off this years collection at the end of December, and what ever our total is, this amount will be sent to the NSPCC. We are hoping that you will take this opportunity to order any Christmas gifts for yourself or others in this manner so that we can make Michael proud.
