Official trailer for Tron Legacy now up in Gallery

Posted on March 9th, 2010 by madnad  |  4 Comments »

The first and official trailer for Tron Legacy has been added to the Video Gallery.

Starring Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett and of course Michael Sheen – Tron Legacy is the long anticipated sequel to the original Tron film of 1982.

The original film was a huge hit with sci-fi fans because of its cutting edge technology. It looks like that tradition has been kept, along with the look and feel of the original such as the neon colours, and the 3D graphical cyber-world.

Kevin Flynn was the hacker/programmer that was digitized and re-constituted in a digital world. There he battled the MCP (MasterControlProgram) along with Tron, a program that he, Flynn, had written. The MCP was defeated, and Flynn made it back to the real world. However, almost 30 years later – he is missing, and his son, played by Hedlund, is looking for him.

Also, for those eager to get a first glimpse at Michael, here are a couple of screen grabs that I have now added to the photo Gallery.

Michael Sheen #79 in 100 British Celebrities Who Really Matter

Posted on March 8th, 2010 by madnad  |  8 Comments »

Journalist Piers Morgan has published in the Daily Mail a list of what he considers the top 100 British Celebrities Who Really Matter.

Michael Sheen appears at #79, and even Morgan admits that this should be higher.

He should be a lot higher on this list, frankly, because Sheen is probably our most successfully versatile thespian at the moment. But he’s not that ’sexy’, so he doesn’t command the kind of tabloid attention that propels actors from stars to superstars – something that I suspect he’s quite happy about. He’s got one of those Rory Bremner-like faces that can adapt to almost any character, from Tony Blair to David Frost. And he’s a fine, fine actor. So he matters, but not nearly as much as he would if he got caught on a sex tape with Paris Hilton. A tragic, but accurate, state of affairs.

I am afraid Piers Morgan, that you are quite, quite, wrong when you say that Michael is not sexy – myself and the many people reading this post now, would strongly disagree.

You can read the full list HERE.

Michael Sheen at the Oscars

Michael Sheen attended the 82nd Oscars last night. Although he was not nominated for an award, he did go on stage.

For the ‘Best Actress’ award several actors came on stage to tell us a little about each of the nominees.  Michael was there to talk about Helen Mirren who was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in The Last Station. The award was presented to Sandra Bullock for her role in The Blind Side.

He joked about his time on the set of The Queen,  and how he wondered if it was wrong to be so attracted to a queen.

Michael must have been pleased by the result of the Best Actor award, as he said in his interview last week with Digital Spy that he wanted Jeff Bridges to win, having been a fan of his for years and recently worked with him on Tron Legacy.

After the Oscars, he attended the Govenor’s Ball with his daughter Lily, and Neil Gaiman.

Michael Sheen certainly has the nicest fans!

One of our members was fortunate enough to attend the Curious & Curiouser event at the British Library on the 24th February, and was lucky enough to get a photo with Michael. Not only are his fans lovely, but Michael is lovely too as he generously spent time talking with her and signing some DVD covers.

Thank you Maria for sharing the story of your meet and for generously allowing us to put this in the Gallery.
