This morning, Michael Sheen appeared as a guest of DJ Chris Evans on his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
Michael was there to start promotion of his Hamlet performance that commences next month at The Young Vic. He was in high spirits and the jokes came thick and fast. Michael confirmed that although Hamlet has sold out, there are more tickets due to be released on Tuesday 27th September. For more details and to book online, please see The Young Vic’s website.

Michael Sheen’s Radio2 interview with Chris Evans now available to download
Yesterday, Michael Sheen was the ‘mystery guest’ on BBC Radio 2′s Breakfast Show with Chris Evans. With the mystery guest, Chris Evans is challenged to have a 3 minute interview with no prior knowledge of who the guest is, or what the subject matter is.
The phone interview went smoothly and they spoke, obviously, about the Passion play which was recently performed throughout Port Talbot. Interestingly, the guy that introduced Michael said that the BBC documentary we are all waiting for, will be aired in May, yet Michael said later in the interview that it was due to be broadcast in June.
A copy of the interview has been added to the list of available downloads, or you can click the button below.
Michael reading ‘Richard Burton The Legacy’ now available for download
Last night, on BBC Radio 2, Michael Sheen narrated a piece on fellow Welsh actor, the late great Richard Burton.
We have added a copy of this to our DOWNLOADS section for those outside the UK, and not able to catch it. For those in the UK, if you prefer, you can listed again on the BBC iPlayer.
It is an excellent insight into an acting legend, and very well read by another.
Michael Sheen presents Radio2′s “The Richard Burton Legacy”
Back in June, Michael Sheen kicked off BBC Radio 2′s documentary season with “Hello, Good Evening and Welcome – The David Frost Story”. It was reported back then that Michael would also be narrating a feature on the late great Richard Burton.
Here is what Radio 2 have to say about it:
Michael Sheen grew up in the shadow of the steel and coal industries of South Wales but there was another towering figure in his youth as he started showing signs of what was to become a glittering acting career. That figure was his fellow South Walian Richard Burton.
In this programme Michael looks back at the Burton legacy with the help of a selection of family, friends and colleagues including his last wife Sally, his nephew Guy Masterson, his close friend Robert Hardy, his biographer Melvyn Bragg and the film critic Barry Norman.
The broadcast will be aired Wednesday 18th August 2010 at 22:00
