Britannia Awards to be televised in U.S.
The 19th annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Los Angeles’ Britannia Awards will make their exclusive U.S. debut on TV Guide Network on November 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
This marks the first time the awards have ever aired on U.S. television. Ahead of the show, the network will air a half-hour red-carpet special, featuring celebrity honorees Jeff Bridges, Christopher Nolan, Ridley and Tony Scott, Michael Sheen and Betty White, with presenters including Marion Cotillard, Dakota Fanning, Carey Mulligan, Kevin Spacey and Olivia Wilde. The Britannia Awards celebrate the achievements of those who made an outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry in the U.S. and Great Britain.
“BAFTA Los Angeles’ Britannia Awards have found a great home with the TV Guide Network,” said BAFTA Los Angeles’ chairman, Nigel Lythgoe. “We are delighted to celebrate with this year’s honorees who have provided us with some of the most incredible and remarkable performances, films and television programs. We’re equally as excited to share the evening with audiences across the country.”
Michael Sheen will be receiving a BAFTA Los Angeles Award for British Artist of the Year.
Michael Sheen to be honoured at Brittania Awards
BAFTA/LA will honour Michael Sheen at its 2010 Brittania Awards along with fellow Brit, and Writer/Director of “Inception”, Christopher Nolan.
The ceremony, held in Los Angeles on 4 November, with Stephen Fry acting as Master of Ceremonies, will bestow their Best Artist award on Michael.

We could not be more delighted about our first honorees of this year’s Brittania Awards, representing two outstanding British talents.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts/Los Angeles will announce 3 more honourees in the coming months.
The Britannia Award is BAFTA/LA’s highest accolade, a celebration of achievement honoring individuals and companies who have dedicated their careers or corporate missions to advancing the entertainment arts.
