Now its even easier to help the site’s NSPCC collection
I have made it even simpler for you to help the NSPCC when you shop at Amazon.
You will already find many product links on the Project pages, but if you want to buy something that isn’t Sheen related (hard to imagine, I know ), then all you have to do is click on the Amazon link in our menu bar, and you will be given a choice of different Amazon stores from around the globe.
Click on the one you use – and shop away as normal. That’s it!Easy-peasy!
- It costs you no extra to use this method
- After you have clicked through, all sales generate a small percentage of referral commission
- 100% of the commission paid to the site from Amazon goes directly to the NSPCC through the JustGiving.com page
More info on the site’s charitable collections can be found HERE.
US site visitors can now use our Amazon associate links
Michael-Sheen.co.uk is now Associates with Amazon.com, as well as Amazon.co.uk. This means that we can now offer links to Michael Sheen related Amazon products for our US visitors, so now it is even easier to complete your collection, which in turn will generate more referral commission towards our 2010 charity collection.
You will start to see two ‘Buy from‘ buttons on the product links featured on the project pages. In the future, we hope to continue this expansion with the French and German Associate programs also so that our mainland European visitors can also contribute to our charity collection.
Total Amazon commission raised for NSPCC for 2009
As mentioned in previous posts, this site receives a small referral fee for anyone who makes a purchase after click through to them from Michael-Sheen.co.uk.
This year, I have decided that the money raised would go to the NSPCC, as this is a very worthy cause and Michael Sheen is currently their Ambassador.
Our total for 2009 is £30.53.
The amount is made up of the following quarterly totals (Click on the links to view the Amazon statements).
Quarter 1 2009 = £0.00
Quarter 2 2009 = £2.24
Quarter 3 2009 = £7.60
Quarter 4 2009 = £20.69
I would like to thank all who made purchases through the site and helped us get this amount. We have only been running the scheme since March so I am very pleased, but I know that we can do better next year.
If you want to help us raise even more money for 2010, then follow the instructions as explained in this earlier post.
I will be sending a cheque to the NSPCC this week and will post the receipt once it has arrived.
Thank you all once again, and a Happy New Year to you all.
Help the NSPCC without costing you a penny!
At Michael-sheen.co.uk we have an Amazon Associate shop and any sales made through this generate a (very very small) referral commission to the site. It has been the intention all along for this to be donated at the end of the year to a charity of Michael’s choice.
You get your items for no extra charge – so you can help charity without it costing you a penny!
As we have been unable to get a reply from the man himself about which charity to donate to, we have decided to donate the money to the NSPCC. The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is a UK charity that are working towards wiping out cruelty and abuse to children, and Michael Sheen is their current Hero of the Child’s Voice Appeal.
How can I help?
On the site in the menu bar at the top you will see a button marked ‘Amazon’. If you click here, it will take you to our Associate Shop. We have a large collection of DVDs, Blu-Rays, CD’s, Posters and more. Anything a Michael Sheen fan could want. We have done the searching through Amazon so you don’t have to. New products are being added as they are released.
Can I buy anything from Amazon through the site’s shop?
Yes, you can! First, log into your account on Amazon. Browse through and select the items you want to order and add them to your ‘WishList’.
Then go to the site, and click on our Amazon shop button. You will notice that in the bottom right of the Amazon shop it displays your WishList. Select the items you want and order and checkout in the usual manner.
Where can I learn more about the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal?
Watch this video that Michael Sheen recorded himself. We will be cutting off this years collection at the end of December, and what ever our total is, this amount will be sent to the NSPCC. We are hoping that you will take this opportunity to order any Christmas gifts for yourself or others in this manner so that we can make Michael proud.
