| A romantic comedy that follows Gil and Inez, a young engaged couple who are traveling to Paris.Gil is a successful Hollywood screenwriter, but he’s currently attempting to finish his first novel. His fiancee thinks struggling to write a novel is silly when screenwriting is much more lucrative. She is distracted however, as her head is full of thougts of their impending nuptials.Struggling with his writing, Gil takes a stroll alone through Paris, and on the stroke of midnight, he is approached by an old car, and is magically transported back in time to the 1920′s. While here, he mixes with historical luminaries including F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dali. He also meets Adriana, the muse of Hemingway and Picasso.Enamored by the time and place, Gil finds reasons to visit again, leaving his fiance frustrated by his midnight walkabouts. She begins to spend more time with Paul, a friend who lives in Paris, but who Gil finds to be an insufferable know-it-all. He is losing touch with Inez, and finding his eye turns to Adriana. The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better. |
