8th Annual The Scorecard Review Movie Awards
The Scorecard Review is currently taking votes for its 8th Annual Movie Awards and Michael is nominated in two categorys.
The Scorecard Review is an online film review magazine. Their awards are meant to be the antithesis of the Oscars as they are voted for by you, the viewing public, and better reflect public opinion.
There are several pages of category’s before you get to the ones Michael is nominated in. He is listed in Best Actor and Actor of the Year.
Amendment 19/2/10:
The link to the article on The Scorecard Review appears to have been taken down. It seems that when the voting first opened, so many Twilight sites urged their members to vote for Twilight that it unfairly skewed the figures. According to the owner of the site, there was deliberate manipulation of the voting as all the Twilighters voted 10 for their projects, and 1 for everything else.
While I agree that the Twilight fans have every right to vote for their favourite film/actor, the en masse voting from a minority of the film viewing public would have indeed given an unrealistic representation of public opinion.
A statement from Jeff Bayer, the owner of the site read
Unfortunately, I had to remove ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ choices. Too many twihards were giving everything Twilight a 10, and every other film a 1, trying to manipulate the results.
I love movies, movie fans and I have no problem with people loving Twilight, but trying to kill other movies is not the point of these awards. It was a difficult choice, as I love the attention the TSR Movie Awards have already received
The has of course, caused outrage in the Twilight fan community and I can only imagine the back lash has caused the author to completely remove the link.
