Michael Sheen leaves a Christmas message on behalf of Carers Trust
The Princess Royal Trust for Carers have posted a recent video filmed at The Young Vic, in which Michael Sheen leaves a message explaining why he thinks the work of The Trust is so important, and why we all need to support carers this Christmas.
“When most people stop work for the holidays carers can’t, but The Trust’s network of Carers’ Centres understand the extra stress Christmas puts on carers and can offer support such as a day’s respite to allow time to buy Christmas presents, visit friends and talk to people who understand.”
Michael visited one of their Carers’ Centres in Port Talbot last year, while he was working on the Passion, and continues to support The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

Resistance Behind The Camera Featurettes
Metrodome, the distributors for Michael Sheen’s upcoming film Resistance, have added two behind-the-camera featurettes to their YouTube channel.
Directed by Amit Gupta and based on an Owen Sheers novel of the same name, the film is set during an alternative WWII where Britain is under German occupation. The men of an isolated Welsh village have disappeared, presumably to join the resistance, and the women are left to fend for themselves. The village is visited by a group of Nazis. The invaders and the local women are forced to work together when terrible weather blows in.
Copies of the featurettes have been added to the project page, and to the Video Library. Please click the thumbnails below.
Resistance hits UK cinemas on 25th November 2011.
Interview video from Burton Plaque installation
Further to the articles I published last week, a video has surfaced from Press Association where Michael Sheen was interviewed at the installation of the Burton Plaque. A copy of the video has been added to the Video Library.
A blue plaque was installed by English Heritage at the London home of the late Richard Burton, and was unveiled by Michael Sheen. Michael revealed that Burton was an inspiration to him growing up, and that he would dearly love an opportunity to play the fellow Port Talbot thespian.

New Video of Michael talking to children from Dewis Housing
Back in April, I posted a short video of Michael talking about his passions to the children of Dewis Housing. Spill Media have published on their facebook page today, another video with Michael which has now been added to the Video Library.
Spill Media were commissioned by Neath Port Talbot Council Arts and the Arts Council of Wales to work with Dewis Housing. Dewis are an organisation who offer supported accomodation, information and advice for young people in the Neath Port Talbot County.
For this project, the Spill team worked with 5 young people who use Dewis, showing them how to use camera and sound equipment and helping them write short stories about the things that they could not live without.
As part of the project, the young people also interviewed Michael Sheen when he visited the Dewis office and used the skills they had learned from the Spill team to film as Michael visited the homes of the young people.
The film was screened at Pontardawe Arts Centre for it’s official premiere.
New Resistance clip added to the Video Library
The Sun newspaper released an exclusive clip of Resistance today. A copy has been added to the Video Library.
Directed by Amit Gupta, Resistance is a drama based on the original novel by Owen Sheers, and is set in an alternate version of World War 2, featuring Michael Sheen as a spy.
In this reality, the D-Day landings failed, and German has invaded Britain. The story takes place in a remote Welsh village where the women woke one day to find all the men have disappeared. A patrol of Nazis arrives on the scene, and the two groups have to work together to survive severe weather conditions.

Resistance is due in UK cinemas on November 25
