The Prince of Wales is to attend the first showing in Wales of World War Two blockbuster Resistance, WalesOnline can reveal.
Owen Sheers, the author of the original critically acclaimed novel, will also attend the A-list screening at Baker Street Cinema, Abergavenny, on Monday, November 21.
Actors from the hotly-anticipated new film, which includes performances by British rising star Andrea Riseborough and Tom Wlaschiha, will also be on the red carpet from 7pm.

The plot revolves around a Britain under Nazi occupation, and how the men from one valley community join a resistance force, leaving the women to fend for themselves.
Resistance premieres at Cambridge Film Festival – win tickets!
The film Resistance, based on the Owen Sheers novel of the same name, will get its UK premiere at the Cambridge Film Festival tomorrow at 5.45pm at the Arts Picturehouse. Cambridge City News have launched a competition to win tickets, so if you are in the area – give it a go!

Resistance is set in an alternate 1944, after the fall of Russia and the failed D-Day landings. The menfolk of the valley are disappearing one by one, their absences sudden and unexplained. As the all-female community huddles together, a group of German Wehrmacht soldiers invade the valley. A cruel winter season forces the two groups to put aside their differences and build a cautious entente cordiale, but as farmer’s wife Sarah Lewis grows closer to the patrol’s commanding officer, the spirit of the valley is threatened by the war raging beyond the mountain, and the unlikely community is faced with unimaginable devastation.
They will be showing it again on Tuesday at 8.30pm at Cambridge Cineworld. Resistance is out on general release in the UK on 25 November 2011.

Michael Sheen to attend London premiere of Breaking Dawn pt 1
According to celebrity website MarkMeets, Michael Sheen will be attending the London premiere of Breaking Dawn along with others from the main cast including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kellan Lutz.
At the moment, I have no definite date for the premiere although I imagine it will be prior to the general release date of 18th November. I will update once I have more info.
I am actually surprised that Michael will be attending as this date falls into the start of his Hamlet run at the Young Vic, so there is a good chance that the info regarding his attendance is incorrect.
