Michael Sheen #79 in 100 British Celebrities Who Really Matter

Journalist Piers Morgan has published in the Daily Mail a list of what he considers the top 100 British Celebrities Who Really Matter.

Michael Sheen appears at #79, and even Morgan admits that this should be higher.

He should be a lot higher on this list, frankly, because Sheen is probably our most successfully versatile thespian at the moment. But he’s not that ‘sexy’, so he doesn’t command the kind of tabloid attention that propels actors from stars to superstars – something that I suspect he’s quite happy about. He’s got one of those Rory Bremner-like faces that can adapt to almost any character, from Tony Blair to David Frost. And he’s a fine, fine actor. So he matters, but not nearly as much as he would if he got caught on a sex tape with Paris Hilton. A tragic, but accurate, state of affairs.

I am afraid Piers Morgan, that you are quite, quite, wrong when you say that Michael is not sexy – myself and the many people reading this post now, would strongly disagree.

i agree with jessica. michael is soooooo sexy. he should be top 10 (or even better number 1).its true because he’s not in the under 25s. they forget about him.believe me ,michael sheen is not forgettable but memorable and mesmerizing.i would choose michael over any actor any day.he has talent overflowing and could teach a few of the acting world a few lessons.

hey you mr. Morgan, you probably have serious psycho problems!!!! I saw him and Michael Sheen is the sexiest man and actor I ever seen and I saw many actors becouse every year I attend the Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, I saw Pitt, Clooney and other “monsters of beauty” but no one of them is so sexy and handsome like our fantastic Michael!!! Shame on you… and change job!!! Maria

Well I absolutely agree when you say Michael is very sexy, and although is nice that he appears on this list, it’s probably not the best ranking he’s made… maybe if there would be a rank of talented people, he would be at the top of it (that would be a dream come true).

To someone like Morgan who judges Britain’s Got Talent its about being an exhibitionist, not the talent. Its no doubt he considers people like Michael, who not only show respect from themselves in public but rely on their talent and not on their PR people to work around the clock to keep their faces in the trashy magazines, further down on ‘who really matter’ lists.

The simple fact its titled ‘…who really matter’ will tell you its all nonsense.

And the not sexy? I mean, have you not seen that smile? That alone makes me melt. Michael has more sex appeal in his smile than the ‘heartthrobs’ have in their little finger.

I’m completely agree with Abby. You’re right when you talk about Michael’s smile, it makes me melt too, makes me dream, it was the first thing I notice about Michael. When I met him at ‘Curiouser’ I couldn’t help it…I couldn’t stop to watch his mouth while he was talking to me…was so sexyyyyyyyyyyyy…Mr. Morgan is only jealous, I’m sure. Love, Maria
