New Moon is the second book in this popular series about a relationship between a vampire, Edward, and a human, Bella.

After a papercut draws blood from Bella's fingers, Jasper almost looses control. Edward and his family leave Forks because he believes he is endangering Bella's life by being with her. Bella falls into a deep depression, until she develops a strong friendship with Jacob Black. Bella eventually discovers that Jacob and some others of his tribe are werewolves, or more accurately, shapeshifters. Jacob and the other wolves in his pack must protect her from Victoria, a vampire seeking to avenge her mate James' death who was killed by Edward.

A misunderstanding occurs, and Edward believes Bella to be dead. Edward decides to commit suicide in Volterra, Italy, by revealing his vampire nature to the public, knowing that this would cause the Volturi, an ancient and powerful covern of vampires, to kill him. He is stopped in the nick of time by Bella and Alice, Edward's sister, who flew to Italy once they knew of his intentions. They are all arrested by the Volturi, of which Aro is their leader, but are released on the condition that Bella be turned into a vampire in the near future.

Bella and Edward are reunited, and the Cullens return to Forks.

I just got online and my email box was full with alerts on Michael playing Aro in New Moon. While I still was able to enjoy Twilight, the novel that is, I couldn't stand New Moon at all, but -and I'm not saying this as a Michael fan- I loved Aro and found him to be the best character and the best feature of the novel. I'm a little torn now. On the one hand, I'd love to see what Michael will do with the character. He seems perfect for it. On the other hand, this movie will give him lots of publicity and I don't want to see him being reduced to "the guy who played Aro in the Twilight franchise". However, I'm sure he'll be amazing in it. I just wonder whether New Moon can be a better movie than Twilight. I expected more from it than from the novel and was rather disappointed by it. What do you think about the news?

It seems to be a common opinion that the movie was not as good as the novel. I hope that things improve with New Moon. I have not read this book, but Aro does sound like an interesting character and so I may have to remedy that. I hope that the Twilight publicity will cancel out, to a degree, the 'another turn as Tony Blair' publicity. Dont get me wrong - he plays Tony so well, but it really is not the part I would want him to be remembered for either.
  • escruse  - He look great
He can make any role that he decide to do it does matter if it is a Vampire or a politician character
  • anitaswenson  - Love Michael in any role he plays!
his roles are so diverse. it is rare that such a good looking guy can play any role offered to him!
  • irusya  - Magnificent Michael!
The talented remarkable actor! Its game, always causes pleasure from viewing! Besides very much it is still very charming.I love him!
  • Wara  - I loved it!
I was very excited about this movie because I loved the last part of the book (where the Volturis appear). I had great expectations about Aro specially and the way Michael played him exceded them, I think that part was much better on the film than on the book mostly because of Michael's performance. Also I think it is great to see him an a big box office movie, because now it`s easier for people to recognize him and hopefully pay attention to his previous work.

This isnt Michael's first blockbuster Wara. He was in the oscar nominated Frost/Nixon as well as in Rise Of The Lycans and The Damned United - all blockbusters I would say, so he isnt a stranger to this.
  • Wara
You're absolutely right but those movies haven't been big hits in my country so not many people knows them. :(
